Elderway is one of the key investment sites highlighted in the new Chesterfield Investment Prospectus which was launched to more than 6,000 delegates at UKREiiFF, the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum held in Leeds (16 – 18 May)
Within the prospectus the former iconic Co-Op department store, which has been transformed by Jomast into a hotel, eight street level units and a large basement, sits alongside other key investment sites in the borough, including the Northern Gateway Enterprise Centre, One Waterside Place and Staveley Waterside.
UKREiiF is a key event in Chesterfield Borough Council’s calendar and this year it was attended by the Council’s Chief Executive Dr Huw Bowen and Chair of Destination Chesterfield Peter Swallow who is also leading the delivery of the £340milllion Chesterfield Waterside scheme, one the UK’s largest regeneration projects.
Speaking at UKREiiF Dr Bowen said: “Chesterfield is delivering consistent and sustainable growth, and becoming a destination of choice for entrepreneurs, knowledge workers and investors seeking a compelling work-life alternative to big cities.
“Our investments in assets, infrastructure, and partnerships are fuelling the transition to a higher-skilled, higher-wage economy. Our indigenous business base is growing, and we’ve seen enquiries from companies considering relocation to Chesterfield rocket since the pandemic.”
In the last 10 years, the town’s business population has grown by more than a fifth (21%), creating 2,000 new jobs, including 1,800 high-value roles in sectors such as advanced manufacturing and professional services. Chesterfield aims to attract a further 400 businesses and 2,000 more jobs to the town by 2030.
For businesses looking for a central and premium location in Chesterfield, Elder Way has it all. It benefits from a thriving 92-bedroom Chesterfield Premier Inn hotel which occupies the first and second floors of the iconic building., secure parking close by at Saltergate multi-storey car park and Chesterfield Train Station being just a short walk.
A choice of eight contemporary and stylish units are now available for occupiers. The units, which all boast glazed frontages and streel level access, are equally suitable for leisure, retail, bar and restaurant investors.
